Pop over to Popovers on the Square
Have you ever been far away from home and in an area you don't really know? Looking for something to eat but don't really know what to get? Trying new places is like taking a risk, you don't know if it will be the best decision you made or the worst experience you'll have. It's a matter of finding out and following your craving.
After a long day of work last night and early morning attending my brothers soccer match in Epping, New Hampshire, I didn't get the chance to have breakfast at home. Luckily, on my way back from the game, I got to spot a place called Popovers on the Square. I was craving something sweet and doughy and definitely a cup of iced coffee to get my head together. As I entered the restaurant, the lovely waitress assisted me. I had told her I was looking for breakfast (although it was 12 pm) and she happily showed me the selection on the menu. I had asked for a recommended breakfast plate in which she replied that she has not yet tried the breakfast but her dad has and loved the breakfast panini which consists of smoked bacon, their nut-free basil pesto, tomato, and fresh mozzarella on herb focaccia; served with mixed fruit for $8.49. It looked like something I would definitely eat and love but I was looking for something on the sweet side. I did notice a customer order this plate though. She seemed to enjoy it.
Seen as I came around noon time, I had missed the full breakfast selection. Luckily, they had an All Day Brunch section. As I browsed the section, I came across French Toast which was thick challah bread (a special Jewish bread), vanilla, cinnamon and egg which was then topped with fresh berries and whipped cream; served with NH maple syrup. I got the triple stack for $7.29.

I had also ordered an iced coffee. I am very picky when it comes to coffee because of past experiences. If the coffee tastes like it's watered down, I won't drink it. I need to be able to taste that strong coffee taste. When the waitress brought the iced coffee, it was black but the cream was on the side so I added enough to my liking. As I took a sip of the iced coffee, I knew I came to the right place. It had such a powerful and strong buzz and definitely tasted like pure coffee.
The price was also great. For $2.50 a cup, I would be there all the time. If only we had one in Boston. I didn't get to finish my coffee as I had to leave but the waitress offered to get me a to-go cup. Prior to that, the waitress came a couple times to check in and see if the food was alright and if I had needed anything.

After finishing my plate, I asked to pay the bill. The lovely lady ran my card through and thanked me and told me to have a wonderful day. The environment was so welcoming and heartwarming. As I was leaving the restaurant, the first waitress I had spoke to asked me if I liked the food as well and I ensured that it was amazing and that I will definitely be coming back again. I am very big on customer service and welcoming environments and this place proved to be on top of those. I recommend that if you're ever around Epping, New Hampshire or even Portsmouth, New Hampshire where they have another restaurant located there to go and pay a visit. I promise you it will be all worth it. From the food to the customer service, you'll be coming back for more.
