Eating in the suburbs

Image
Good morning everyone! I live in a suburb of Boston, a small city called Marlborough. Marlborough and its surrounding towns are a big melting pot of ethnicities. People from all over the world come to cities like mine, where the cost of living isn’t as high as in bigger cities, but there is still plenty to do. All though I have my job and many of my friends in the Boston, sometimes I feel so far from the comradery  the city has to offer. Boston has an amazing line up of bakeries, coffee shops, and restaurants with foods from all over the world, that will transport you to a new location as soon as you take your first bite. Living about 45 minutes from the city, sometimes I just wish I could have that same sensation while eating locally. I took this weekend to catch up on some work I’ve been trying to ignore, and I thought to myself, “where could I grab a bite while being productive.” I debated going into the city but the drive slaughtered my motivation. I decided to do ...

Morning Rush

Good morning guys! If you woke up late today, like I did, and need to grab your daily dose of caffeine, there’s no place better than Dunks. I grew up in New England so, yes, I am a Dunkin’ girl 💁🏻. I quickly got ready and started my day by walking to Dunkin’. On my walk, I had a good feeling that there wouldn’t be a line so maybe I would finally be able to get the donut I’ve been wanting to try. The past few times I’ve gone to Dunkin’ they never had the donut I’ve wanted ☹️. I got to Dunkin’ and there was no line and they didn’t have the donut that I wanted.  So, I ordered my usual iced coffee with Carmel mocha swirl and the purple potion donut!                                                                (Photo by SG) So I guess you could say my day is going alright, despite the fact I woke up late. I ...

Brewing Coffee Around the World

Image
Good morning world! Today we will bring to light some of our favorite ways to brew coffee! I don't know about you guys, but I am not fully awake until I have my Cup o' Joe.  Through out most of high school and some of college, I worked as a barista in multiple coffee shops (so I can confidently say I know a thing or two about making coffee.) The most important thing I learned through out the years behind the bar is that coffee shouldn't just be just a drink to help me wake up, but instead i should be savoring the different smells and flavors that come through. There are so many different ways to brew up the perfect cup, so why do we keep drinking the same boring drink every morning? Here are 4 ways to travel the world with your morning coffee: French Press: This method is popular in none other than... France! (and other European countries). You should simply use one table spoon of course grinds for every 4 oz. of hot water.  Pour in your grinds, po...
