Traditional Chinese Breakfast Recipe

Breakfast dishes in China vary widely from place to place. Families in Southern China prefer to have soybean milk, deep-fried dough sticks, wheat noodles, rice porridge or congee. People in Canton usually eat dim sum and morning tea in the morning. In Northern China, majority people like salty tofu pudding, rice noodles, wontons, dumplings, and pancakes with eggs.

Today, I will introduce some simple Chinese breakfast recipes to you. Dishes below usually take 20 mins to make so it would not cost too much time in the morning.

The pancakes are usually filled with savory and spicy ingredients, includes fried egg, chopped mustard pickles, scallions, coriander, and a tasty sauce.

Congee is the most common breakfast in China. You can arrange the ingredients according to your personal taste and preference. If you like shrimps, you can add shrimps to your congee. If you are vegetarian, you can add some vegetables to your congee.
