Good Morning everyone!

Ever wakeup in the mood of eating something not so sweet but sweet enough to help you wake up? Well today I will be showing you how to make Lamona, a recipe from Algeria. Algerians usually have this bread type sweet in the morning with a cup of coffee or milk or even that Arab tea. It is so fluffy so don't be surprised if you end up having more than one without realizing it. They'll be gone before you know it!

Ingredients:
2 cups lukewarm milk
2 tbs milk powder
1cup + 2 tab sugar
1/2 cup canola oil
1 tsp yeast
1/2 tsp salt
1tbs baking powder
1tbs vanilla
2 eggs
100 gr softened butter
5 to 6 cups unbleached flour.
1 cup dry cranberry
1 cup golden raisins
1 cup candied orange.
Zest of one orange.
Direction:
There are three steps for this recipe...
First step: In a large bowl, mix 1 1/5 cup of lukewarm milk, 2 tbs sugar, yeast, salt let it rest about 10 minutes.
Second step: mix one cup of sugar, 1/2 cup lukewarm milk, 2 tbs milk powder, 2 eggs, vanilla and 1/2 cup of oil...It should look creamy....set a side.
Third step: mix the rest of the flour and baking soda.
Start mixing the flour and the creamy mixture into the yeast mixture alternatively until the dough is soft, knead for for a minute add the softened butter.
Divide the dough and add dry fruits and nuts or spices.

Cover and let it rise.
Cut and shape your bread.
Preheat oven and bake until golden.

For lamona, 2 minutes before removing from oven brush the top with water mixed with some sugar.
